Village Underground

Concept Restaurant Gallery Design

Using the space Village Underground in Shoreditch as a blank canvas for the design. It was turned into a restaurant featuring a long flowing table that runs through the space, providing areas for the chef's in the kitchen to come out to the diners and prepare their food. The space features a second floor which features an incubation studio space that can be rented and hired out to new and upcoming companies and be used for the space'ss secondary function, as a venue for fashion shows. The Table is designed to double up as a catwalk, flowing through the space and raising up to the second floor, becoming the handrail as it creeps up the stairs. The roof of the structure is punctured with holes, which are larger in places where more light will be needed and smaller in more private areas. The roof itself will produce a variety of patterns on the catwalk and over the diners or viewers of the show.
